“Neurodiversity” is a word used to explain the unique ways people's brains work. Neurodivergence is a term used to describe those individuals whose brains work outside of what is considered normal or typical. When it comes to inclusion, it is important to recognise and respect the many ways that neurodivergent individuals see and interact with the world and their unique perspectives. This training workshop will:
• Raise awareness of neurodiversity
• Develop understanding of neurodiversity
• Reflect on the medical and social models in relation to neurodiversity
• Increase basic knowledge of neurodivergent conditions
• Develop awareness of some of the challenges for neurodivergent individuals
• Explore potential workplace changes to help integrate neurodivergent individuals
