"For work to be successful and effective, managers, colleagues and indeed staff at all levels need to be equipped with a range of people skills. At times we take these skills for granted and because they are seen as ‘soft skills’, these are downgraded and seen to be of lesser importance than technical or ‘hard’ industrial skills. This course will remind those attending of the need, and the value for spending time on enhancing and developing these skills. While the technology and the industry is important, people actually deliver and operate the necessary systems afforded to discussing and practising some of the essential skills for delivering and implementing effective work practices with our teams, colleagues and customers.

• Remind ourselves of the essential skills required for better communication when dealing with people
• Examine values and principles needed to develop rapport with others
• Consider the importance of creating a conducive environment for people to feel confident in their relationships and to flourish
• Consider what we might do differently, and what action steps we might follow."
